NEBDN Announces 2026 SRA Award Winners!

Earlier this year, we opened our annual Special Recognition Awards (SRAs) for individuals and groups who have made a significant impact on dental nursing developments and dental nursing education and training.

We would like to take this opportunity to recognise three outstanding recipients of NEBDN’s Special Recognition Awards presented in 2026. These awards highlight contributions across key categories, and we continue to be inspired by the dedication, innovation, and commitment demonstrated within our community.

The three categories are:

  • Individual Contribution Nomination
  • Group Contribution
  • Learner of the Year

Following a shortlist, we are delighted to announce the winners of the SRAs are:

Award Winner – Individual Nomination – Jane Dalgarno

Jane Dalgarno has been awarded the NEBDN Individual SRA Award in recognition of her exceptional and sustained contribution to Dental Nurse education and professional development over more than 25 years. Through her extensive experience delivering and leading education across a wide range of NEBDN-linked and national programmes, alongside her work in qualification development, quality assurance, and Learner support, Jane has made a lasting impact on Learner success and professional standards. Her educational leadership, national influence, and unwavering commitment to excellence make her a highly deserving recipient of this award.

Award Winner – Group Contribution – Tempdent

Tempdent has been awarded the NEBDN Group SRA Award in recognition of its outstanding and sustained contribution to Dental Nurse education, development, and professional advocacy across the UK. For nearly three decades, Tempdent has delivered high-quality training through exceptional Learner outcomes, innovative programmes, and a Learner-centred approach. Its commitment to personalised support, progression, retention, and widening participation, alongside initiatives such as the “Elevate” learning model and the Level 4 Oral Health Practitioner Apprenticeship, has made a significant contribution to strengthening the Dental nursing workforce and advancing the profession.

Award Winner – Learner of the Year – Emma Lloyd  (Diamond Training SW)

Emma Lloyd is a highly deserving winner of Learner of the Year, having demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism, and determination throughout her NEBDN National Diploma in Dental Nursing. Joining the profession later in life and returning to education after many years, Emma has embraced every aspect of her training with enthusiasm, maintaining 100% attendance and consistently showing an outstanding commitment to learning. She has become an invaluable member of her cohort, offering encouragement, guidance, and support to fellow Learners while leading by example through her positive attitude and excellent work ethic. Emma has developed a thorough understanding of the responsibilities and standards expected of a registered dental nurse, showing genuine care for patients, colleagues, and her own professional development. Her willingness to ask questions, seek feedback, and continually improve, combined with her compassionate nature and determination to succeed, make her an exceptional Learner and a true asset to the dental profession.

Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations. The quality of nominations received this year once again demonstrated the passion, dedication, and professionalism that exist throughout the dental nursing community.
