NEBDN SRA Awards 2026
What is a Special Recognition Award?
The Special Recognition Award was created by NEBDN to honour and celebrate individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to NEBDN and to the wider dental nursing profession.
This award can recognise either:
- A single, outstanding achievement, such as exceptional work on a specific project; or
- A sustained contribution over a significant period, demonstrating long-term commitment and meaningful impact.
Criteria for Selection
Nominees for the Special Recognition Award must have made a significant contribution in one or more of the following areas:
- Working in patient care
- Promoting and supporting oral health
- Serving as a member of the NEBDN Board
Providing five or more years of service as an NEBDN Associate, including roles such as:
- Examiner
- Helper
- Qualification Committee member
- Subject Matter Expert
This award reflects NEBDN’s appreciation for those whose commitment and service have made a lasting and positive difference to dental nursing and education.

Individual contribution to Dental Nurse Education
Supported the education and training of Dental Nurses.
Provided support for the development of Dental Nurses.
Has raised awareness and/or promoted the profession.
Learner of the Year
Supporting Dental Nursing consistently through their training program.
Has been a positive influence on their peers.
Has wider involvement in Dental Nursing.
Group contribution to Dental Nurse Education
How the group has supported the education and training of Dental Nurses.
How the group has provided support for the development of Dental Nurses.
How the group has raised awareness and/or promoted the profession.
