June 16, 2025

As part of our ongoing commitment to be the leading Awarding Organisation offering Dental Nursing qualifications, our National Diploma will be enhanced as a regulated qualification available from 1 July 2025. We have also revised our Apprenticeship to include requirements for the GDC Safe Practitioner Framework. Both will be regulated by the GDC and Ofqual and available from July 2025. In addition, we also now have CCEA approval for a Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing to enable delivery by Providers in Northern Ireland and this will also be operationally available from 1st July 2025.

What does this date mean for me?

Any Learners registered up to Monday 30 June 2025 will remain on the current National Diploma qualification. This will continue to be delivered and assessed for a period of 20+ months, allowing Learners to successfully complete their qualification and register with the GDC. Any Learners registered after this date (1 July 2025 onwards) will be on the new Diploma. All NEBDN Diploma Training Providers are aware of this change. If you have any questions about delivery please speak to them.

Further information on the new syllabus and other information like total qualification time and guided learning hours can be requested via an accredited Training Provider. Click here to search for a Provider. More information will be available on our new website very soon.
