Head of Customer Relations

Bethany Mulchinock

Beth is an experienced education, quality assurance, and customer relations leader with extensive expertise across regulated qualifications, apprenticeships, provider management and professional regulation within the healthcare education sector. Having begun her career as a qualified Dental Nurse, she has built a career spanning clinical practice, education, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and strategic operational leadership. Her clinical background provided a strong understanding of patient safety, professionalism and the realities of dental practice, which has underpinned her progression into education and awarding. She has worked across provider quality assurance, apprenticeship delivery, qualification development and regulatory compliance, developing an in-depth understanding of the learner journey from enrolment through to professional registration.

Throughout her career, Beth has worked closely with awarding organisations, education and training providers, employers, NHS organisations, independent dental practices and further education providers to improve the quality and consistency of dental nurse education. She has supported providers through accreditation, quality assurance, external quality management and continuous improvement, ensuring programmes are delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Working extensively alongside regulators including Ofqual, CCEA Regulation, Qualifications Wales, the General Dental Council (GDC) and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), Beth has led the development of governance frameworks, regulatory submissions, risk management processes and quality assurance systems designed to protect learners, patients and public confidence. Her experience includes responding to regulatory inspections, developing evidence-based compliance frameworks and leading complex provider investigations where quality or governance concerns have arisen.

As Head of Customer Relations at the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN), Beth leads multidisciplinary teams responsible for Customer Support, Provider Services, Witness Operations, and e-Portfolio support. She has successfully led organisational transformation, introducing new provider engagement models, strengthening operational governance, and improving customer experience through the development of consistent, transparent, and risk-based approaches to provider management and learner support.

Her leadership has been instrumental in the implementation of new qualification delivery models, the introduction of Mandatory Witness Testimony processes, the development of provider assurance frameworks and the redesign of learner and provider journeys to strengthen patient safety and regulatory compliance. She is passionate about creating collaborative partnerships with providers, employers and stakeholders that promote excellence in education while maintaining the highest standards of quality and public protection.

Beth brings a combination of clinical insight, operational leadership and regulatory expertise, together with a collaborative leadership style that focuses on continuous improvement, innovation and delivering positive outcomes for learners, providers and the wider dental profession. She is committed to ensuring that education remains safe, equitable and responsive to the evolving needs of dental healthcare, supporting NEBDN’s mission to provide lifelong career development for Dental Nurses.
