24 Month Rule

Candidates who pass the National Certificate examination from May 2010 onwards will no longer have to complete 24 months chairside employment before being certificated.  As candidates will have completed the whole of the Record of Experience in order to sit the examination in May 2010, successful candidates will be awarded their National Certificates on confirmation of their results.

Following discussion with the GDC, candidates who sat the National Certificate in November 2009 will also be awarded their certificates from May 2010 provided they completed the full RoE in order to enter the November exam and supply proof that confirms this (e.g. completed signed off tracking document).

It has also been agreed that candidates who completed the minimum requirements of the RoE to sit in either May 09 or Nov 09 and continue to complete the full RoE after passing the examination will also be awarded their certificate as long as they can provide proof of completion (i.e. signed off tracking document).
